I am currently visiting New York this weekend so the NYC post seems appropriate. I will be posting a Williamsburg Brooklyn list separately in the near future.
This post is from an email I recently sent friends heading to NYC. I drafted it on my iPhone! Quite possibly the longest email I have drafted on my phone. I have added photos to the post, but didn’t edit the formatting too much to preserve the authenticity of the iPhone email 🙂
Drinks:

PDT (stands for Please Don’t Tell) (map)
We are clearly telling…
* inside crif dogs, a hot dog joint.
*call at 3pm for reservations. But you can walk in for parties 3ppl or less
*to get into pdt, you use the phone in the hotdog joint.
*good cocktails. When I went in December we played this game with the bartender where we told her what we liked and everything she made was amazing!
*if you walk in and there is a wait, go to the next bar. Pdt will take your number and call you when your spot is ready
Death & Co (map)
*another fun lounge. We hung out here for a drink while we waited for PDT, but could have easily stayed all night.
*they even have a cocktail cookbook!
Food!!!!

Ippudo (NY map / Westside map) -ramen!!
*My favorite ramen place. I go every time I am in NYC.
*pork buns and akamaru modern ramen

Shake Shack – there are everywhere!
* burgers and concretes!! Locations in LA and LV now.

The Meatball Shop (LES map)
*there are many locations…
*fun menu where you can do little sliders with different combinations of meatballs and sauces. Or just get a meatball sandwich. Or just meatballs.
*ice cream sandwiches are build your own too. I remember the mint ice cream had fresh mint !!!

Beauty & Essex (map)
*Went a couple years ago. Beautiful resto hidden behind a pawn shop facade
*apparently there is one in Vegas too. Who knew!
*grilled cheese tomato soup dumplings!
The Stanton Social (map)
* I think same chef group as resto above
* French onion soup dumplings!!!!

Things to do:
Chelsea Market (map) and The High Line (map)
Let’s start with the Chelsea Market
It reminds me of the SF ferry building or Philly’s Redding terminal market. Lots of food places and shops.
The High Line right above the market. It’s a stretch of elevated train tracks that were converted to a lovely park!
We like to do these two things together.
